There are hundreds of electric cars coming out this year, and some of them are absolutely insane. It seems every big manufacturer is bringing out a new electric car and things are getting competitive. It’s like all the phone manufacturers making a smartphone after the original iPhone came out. All of these manufacturers are not only competing with themselves, but they’re also competing against Tesla. The hated T-word in the car world and every other car manufacturer really wants to be the reason for Tesla’s demise, if it ever happens which is unlikely.
The key players are actually the VW Group and many startup brands. VW is bringing out so many electric cars across all of their brands. You have the new Audi E-Tron coming out in a few days (February 10th, 2021), the new VW I.D vehicles, the new Seat El-Born, the Skoda Enyaq, and the new Porsche electric models. Then there are many new startup brands coming too such as Lucid, NIO, Bollinger, and Rivian all are new on the scene and they have had billions of investments. They are all ready to take on Tesla who is the giant right now in the car industry.
What Electric Car Are We Most Excited About?
What electric car are we most excited about? Well, that is a hard question. You see, there are many new electric cars coming out this year and all of them have their own unique quirks and features. Let’s take a look at some of the contenders.
Tesla Cybertruck

We’ve been waiting for years now for the Cybertruck, and finally, this cold-rolled steel monster is coming out this year. Actually, we’re more excited about this than the new Roadster and that’s mainly because this will be a 3-ton truck that can do a supercar 0-60. It looks like a house on wheels, but do we care? Compare this to the F-150 or a Silverado, it looks out of this world! It’s also pretty spacious and extremely tough with its unpainted cold-rolled steel body. No rust, no scratches, no bad paint, etc. It starts at just under $40,000 for a single-motor.
We would never recommend the single motor vehicle as simply it’s not worth it. The truck will be way too underpowered and the range will be terrible in the real world. The best one to get is either the dual or the triple motor. The interior is rugged, though, we are yet to see it properly. Will it be as minimalistic? Will it have a weird airplane joystick-like, steering wheel? Well, we have to wait and see.
Audi E-Tron GT
via: carmagazine.co.uk
The Audi e-Tron GT has been promised for years now and the concept looked crazy. Tony Stark drove one in the last Avengers film and since then we have loved it. The E-Tron GT looks like a supercar and it will be brilliant. The reason why is that it will be based on the already proven Porsche Taycan. The Taycan was called “the best electric car in the world.” The E-Tron GT will be the flagship EV for Audi and we know that they take building cars seriously. We believe that it will be one of the best electric cars ever created.
The E-Tron GT isn’t launched yet and we do hope it looks like the concept. Audi are known to change their concepts quite dramtically due to laws and other money saving things. We don’t want the E-Tron GT to look like a normal boring Audi sedan. We want it to be exciting and unique. The current E-Tron SUV looks stupidly boring. There may be an RS version of the E-Tron in the next few years, and we know regardless of what the E-Tron GT looks like, the RS treatment will make its beyond aggressive.
Lucid Air
via: newatlas.com
The Lucid Air has been promised for some years now, and finally it is coming out this year. It looks beautiful and it goes extremely fast. The top model does a sub 3 second 0-60 and it has over 1000hp. The CEO of Lucid, an Englishman called Peter Rawlinson, actually worked with Tesla on the Model S. He admits that the Model S is a great car, but the Air is completley better and it will rock the Model S.
The Air is a great car. We cannot wait for this new brand to step in and shake up the industry. The top model does a range of over 500 miles and inside it feels and looks luxurious. The Air isn’t here to rival the Model S as such. It is here to rival the likes of the Mercedes S-Class, hence why quality and luxury comes before trendiness.
Polestar 2
via: topgear.com
The Polestar 2 came out last year but deliveries are coming out this year. We are looking forwards to this sedan as it has been highly anticpated. Volvo, who own Polestar, say it’s a proper Model 3 rival. The Model 3 scene is very volitile and fast moving since the Model 3 itself is getting tons of sales. The Polestar 2 is a brilliant looking car and inside too it is very luxurious. Polestar wowed us with their One model, so we have high expectations for their first electric car.
This car may kill the Model 3, except it’s not as trendy. It looks more bulky and less stylish but for the driver who wants a high-quality electric car that is a bit different and a tad more simple, the Polestar 2 is the one to get. It is a spacious car and it’s also very comfortable.
So What Are We Most Excited For?
via: theverge.com
Well, it has to be the Lucid. Why? Well, because it is just so anticipated. It si the car that will actually give the decade old (near enough) Model S some actual competition. It’s just as fast, made in the same country and the man who runs the company knows the Model S very well. It will also be good to see just how luxurious it is, since they are gunning it against the new Mercedes S-Class and the BMW 7-Series.
Mercedes is bringing out their EQS later this year, which will either deem the S-Class useless or deem itself useless against the S-Class. However, that will be a key rival compared to the Air. The Lucid Air may just get all the other luxury manufacturers to make their own luxury sedans.
We cannot wait for this car, it has been developed now for so long that its time for customers to take their opinion.
