Mercedes has just launched its most controversial AMG ever. The all-new C63 AMG. On the face of things, it is a good-looking car. The exterior features many aggressive design parts including a more aggressive front bumper, a hood vent, large alloys, a nice rear spoiler, and more. Inside, the new C63 features a lot of technology including that huge 12.3-inch display from the S-Class. However, unlike other C63 generations from the past, the new C63 does not feature a V8. In fact, it features an engine half the size of its predecessor. A 2-liter 4-cylinder turbo with just as much power, 476hp to be precise. However, that’s not all. At the rear of the car is an electric motor with 201hp which when combined with the gas engine, the car produces almost 680hp which is far more than its competition.
Mercedes then really has gone above and beyond when it comes to technology with the new C63. However, with it being a 4-cylinder now does it even deserve to wear the C63 nameplate anymore? Let’s find out.
It’s Very Fast
The new C63 is the fastest internal combustion engined compact sedan on sale today. It’s only beaten by the electric Tesla Model 3 Performance. Under the hood is the same 2.0 4-cylinder turbo used in the CLA45 AMG. However, it has been mounted longitudinally as opposed to horizontally and it features a larger electric turbo system. Overall power output is 476hp.
At the rear of the car are electric motors which produce 201hp and can push the car to speeds of up to 80 mph.
