Here’s Why 2022 is A Exciting Year For Ferrari.

The masterpieces that inspired the design of the 296 GTB

We’re 3 months into the year and already things are getting exciting for Ferrari. They’ve just launched their 296 GTB supercar to the public and journalists have gone absolutely crazy over it. Furthermore, pictures of the new Purosangue SUV have been leaked out and it’s caused quite a stir. Then there is the new F-175 Formula 1 car that has been released to meet the new 2022 regulations. That’s a car that will be very competitive during this year’s F1 season.

Ferrari is expected to hit new levels this year. Their new SUV will totally transform the brand and it will be a proper player in the super SUV world rivaling the Aston Martin DBX 707 and the Lamborghini Urus. Ferrari will also launch a few new engines this year and also new accompanying technologies. The most revolutionary engine that Ferrari has released recently is the 3 liter F163 twin-turbo V6. The first production V6 Ferrari has ever made.

Ferrari has also launched a new hypercar known as the SP3 which is based on the LaFerrari Aperta. That car will be very special indeed and it harks back to the P3/p4 series from the LeMans era.

This year seems like the year for Ferrari. Their technology is ridiculously advanced, and some of the cars coming out this year will become best sellers for the brand. Here’s why 2022 is an exciting year for Ferrari.

The Ferrari 296 GTB

296 GTB: defining fun to drive | Ferrari Corporate

via: corpoate.ferrari.com

The Ferrari 296 GTB is Ferrari’s latest offering. It’s quite frankly, the most astonishing Ferrari launched in recent years. It takes Ferrari into the future massively. Under the hood is a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 and two electric motors. It’s a plug-in hybrid supercar meaning you can plug it in and charge the batteries.

This is the second plug-in hybrid Ferrari ever made after the SF90 and also the third hybrid Ferrari. What astonishes me most, is that this car utilizes similar technology seen on the LaFerrari from a decade ago. That car cost over $1 million which was absolutely wild. So the 296 GTB priced at $321,400 is a bargain if you ask me.

Furthermore, the 296 GTB makes astronomical numbers when it comes to power. The previous F8 Tributo had 710hp which was a lot. How much does the 296 produce? Maybe 730? Maybe 760? Nope. It pushes out 818hp which is 118hp more than the F8 Tributo. More impressively though, it’s only 132hp less than the LaFerrari. That’s a car that has double the cylinders, more than double the engine size, and it costs almost $1 million more than the 296.

The 296 has instant power when you put your foot down. No turbo lag, none of that whatsoever. The electric motors kick in when the engine struggles which means this car has power all the time. This is why the 296 hits 60 in just 2.9 seconds and flat out will do 205 mph.

Compared to its rivals such as the McLaren Artura, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Lamborghini Huracan Evo, and Maserati MC20 the 296 is on a different planet. It has more power, more technology and it’s faster. A lot faster. The aerodynamics on the 296 is something that will blow you away, and things get even better when you opt for the costly (but worth it) Asseto Fiorano handling pack. Named after their test track, this handling pack increases aerodynamics, tire grip and also reduces weight.

The 296 GTB also harks massively back to Ferrari’s history. The exterior is inspired by the 250 LM race car from the 1960s, in which only 35 were made. The racing decals fitted to Asseto Fiorano pack cars also hark back to Ferrari’s motorsport days. The car is a modern take on a classic design, and in all honesty, I am not a fan of it. To me, the design doesn’t flow well at all. The car looks too small and reminds me of a Fiat X1/9. I much prefer the looks of the F8 Tributo. However, there are many people who will absolutely fall in love with the design of the 296 since it is so classy.

The engine also sounds like a V12. That’s good news since the 6-cylinder rivals for this car from Maserati, Porsche and McLaren don’t sound too great at all. They all sound like vacuum cleaners. But the engine in the 296 sounds like a proper Ferrari. It’s soulful, passionate, and beautiful. Overall, this is an astonishing car that if you want to, can be used every day with ease.

Ferrari Purosaunge Scoop: A First Look At The Ferrari Purosangue

via: topspeed.com

The Purosaunge is the car all Ferrari owners need. You can’t drive most Ferraris every day and even the ones designed for everyday use do not have everyday practicality. This is where the Purosaunge comes in. It’s the most practical Ferrari ever, and it’s a car that the brand has been forced to make. The Purosaunge is probably the most anticipated car of 2022 and it will be unveiled to the public later this year. However, spy shots of the front and rear of the car have been released and in all honesty, it is pretty ugly.

The rear of the car has four taillights much like an SF90. Except they are rounded at the bottom. I think the Purosaunge will quickly become the brand’s best-selling model. You only have to look at what the Urus did for Lamborghini or what the DBX did for Aston Martin to get an idea of how important this car is for Ferrari.

It will look completely different in comparison to any other SUV according to Ferrari. Judging by the leaked images, we are not quite so sure what they are on about. It’s quite tall, it has a rounded body and the ride height is reasonably high. It may though have only 2-doors but that is unlikely since 2-door SUVs are not very practical nor popular at all.

The Purosaunge will be p[owered by a 4 liter V8 which will produce over 600hp. It could also be a hybrid too. The Purosaunge replaces the GTC Lusso essentially which ended production last year. Ferrari wants the Purosaunge to also be very much like a GT car rather than some large off-road vehicle. But at the same time, they want it to feel like a proper supercar hence the powerful engine, etc.
