Ford made the Maverick so that it could easily accommodate cities that have a lot of tight spaces. It’s also a great pickup truck for new drivers due to its small size. This is a city truck that can easily get into even the tightest car parking spaces in and around town.

It’s also pretty cheap starting at just under $20,000 which is pretty good for a utility vehicle. Of course, towing and bed space are limited but what do you expect? This is a small pickup truck made really for the average civilian. It isn’t really made for builders, etc. It would never be seen at a Trump MAGA rally that’s for sure since it’s just too small and a bit weak looking. Therefore, it’s a perfect truck for liberals.

Many people buy pickup trucks all across America. It’s pretty obvious that they are popular. However, how many of us need a great big F-150? How many of us would benefit from a pickup that is slightly smaller but is still practical and feels like a car to drive?

It feels like a van to drive because it’s a van.

The Maverick solves this by being small. It can easily fit into small spaces and it’s also pretty easy to drive in and around town.

In fact, it is the cheapest truck in America, but it isn’t cheap for a “reason.” Inside it is very practical and sturdy with a lot of storage spaces. The Ford Maverick has started a new trend in the pickup industry. Previously, a small pickup truck was something like a Chevrolet Colorado, a Nissan Titan, a Dodge Dakota, a Toyota Tacoma, or a Ford Ranger. Now, things have got smaller and more urban with the Maverick. There are a few other low-cost small pickups coming out too from Hyundai and VW.

Will this trend last though? Manufacturers have previously tried to sell compact low-cost pickup trucks in the past and things did not work well at all. Ford previously had the Courier pickup which sold great elsewhere, but in America, it was so much less popular.

The Maverick is far trendier looking than the Courier though. It has more of a personality. More of a charm. This is sure to attract many younger buyers. However, if you do just want a small pickup truck for work without any of the trendy stuff you can since the base model has steel wheels and black plastic bumpers.

Will the Maverick become the best-selling small pickup truck? Well, it has the potential since it is one of the first new compact pickup trucks to be released. Another one being the Hyundai Santa Cruz. However, this does give companies like Tesla the gateway into entering the small pickup market. Furthermore, Ford has made the pickup truck easier with the Maverick. It now feels more car-like than ever before with a lower ride height and the size is more car-like. Inside it feels more like a car and outside it looks more so as a normal car than a truck.

Will It Kill Ranger Sales?

The Ford Ranger has been a massive success for Ford in North America. People love the size of it. It isn’t too small but at the same time, it isn’t huge. The Ranger is great off-road and it is also very practical and also pretty cheap. However, for some people, it is just too big and also a bit unnecessary. Most people who own a Ranger or even an F150 for that matter do not go off-road. Therefore, why would they need such a large truck that has huge ground clearance, etc?

The Maverick is the perfect pickup truck for those who just want a truck to use day in day out. Those who live in the city. Sure, offroad it isn’t the best, but in and around town it is perfect, especially in places like New York or Chicago. Therefore, the Maverick will probably have its own customer base who are mainly only interested in the Maverick due to its looks, how it feels to drive, etc.

Some Ranger owners may change to a Maverick, but ultimately the Ranger attracts a different crowd of people. It’s more of a workhorse rather than an urban truck like the Maverick. A Ranger owner is more likely to probably want an F-150 due to more size than a smaller Maverick.
